Some of the reasons why Amex Canada Inc. was selected as one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers 2013:
  • established a formal diversity council as well as a global diversity and inclusiveness strategy, with a primary focus on the recruitment and retention of diverse talent as well as marketing to diverse groups
  • in partnership with the Center for Work-Life Policy, created training workshops to raise awareness of the importance of employee sponsorship of diverse groups
  • manages the "Women's Interest Network" (WIN), an in-house employee group that provides support and opportunities for women to network and build community -- the group also hosts guest speaker series, forums to review policy, and recently created a "Women in Technology" (WIT) group for employees in technology roles
  • also maintains a range of employee resource groups including "HOLA" for Hispanic Origin and Latin American employees and "AXP" for Asian employees
  • recently partnered with the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC) to provide cultural training sessions, and also works with a variety of community organizations including the Job Opportunity Information Network (JOIN) and Catalyst to promote diversity and inclusiveness
