  • created a formal diversity strategy and requires all departments to develop an employment strategy for persons with disabilities, which were recently approved for implementation
  • recently participated in "Project Search Pilot", a transitional program for students with an intellectual disability -- students in their final year receive in-class training as well as an opportunity to work onsite and gain employment experience
  • offers a variety of training workshops throughout the year on topics including Aboriginal awareness, and in offices with hearing impaired employees, ensures that training for American Sign Language (ASL) is available
  • created an Aboriginal management development program to support the professional development and advancement of Aboriginal employees -- the program includes training opportunities to help them compete effectively for management positions
  • manages a two-year internship and professional development program for persons with disabilities, which includes training and learning activities for targeted positions
  • hosts "Diversity Breakfast Series", regular morning workshops that cover various diversity-related issues
  • organizined a diversity and employment equity conference for civil servants across the province in order to share diversity best practices and resources
