Chosen as one of Canada's Greenest Employers for 2011:

Some of the reasons why Certified General Accountants Association of Canada was selected as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2011):
recently established an employee-led "Green Team" of 19 employees who meet regularly to review all aspects of the Association's operation with the goal of researching, recommending and implementing environmentally-friendly practices
through one Green Team initiative, CGA Canada recently eliminated paper cups and plates from the cafeteria and replaced with reusable ceramic kitchenware, and has recently switched to a more eco-friendly coffee supplier that composts used coffee pods and is sourcing recyclable cups
the Association's new head office that was renovated utilizing sustainable design and construction practices, such as recyclable furniture (with recycled content), energy efficient lighting, recyclable carpeting and low maintenance flooring (with significant recycled content)
kitchen area sinks feature in-line filtration systems to lessen the need for disposable plastic water bottles
offers employees an annual $500 transit subsidy to encourage employees to leave their cars at home -- and even has office bicycles available for employees to sign-out and use for running errands, heading out for lunch or just touring nearby bicycle trails
employees are also encouraged to leave their cars at home through an organized carpool program
