 Providing Paid Internships to New Canadians

TransCanada provides paid internships to internationally-educated professionals enrolled in Immigrant Works, a program managed by the Calgary-based staffing agency Bowen Workforce Solutions. As a member of the Immigrant Works steering committee, TransCanada is committed to promoting immigrant employment among local area employers.

 Helping New Canadian Employees Obtain Provincial Licensure

The company also supports new Canadian engineering employees by hiring them as technologists, and then moving them into available engineering roles once they obtain their PEng designation. TransCanada helps new Canadian employees meet provincial registration work experience requirements, reimburses the cost of courses, and helps them complete the documentation required to become a licensed engineer in the province of Alberta.
