Within easy walking distance of a Skytrain station and Stanley Park, the head office features an onsite fitness facility (with subsidized memberships, treadmills, stationary bikes and shower facilities); self-serve lunchroom (with lunch deliveries, free fresh fruit, coffee and tea); concierge services available; transit subsidies.

Individual salaries are reviewed every 12 months. Employees may also recieve signing bonuses for some employees; year-end bonuses for all employees; year-end bonuses (to $30,000); share-purchase plan for all employees; defined contribution pension plan with employer contribution (up to 9% of salary); matching RSP contributions (up to 9% of salary); life & disability insurance; (Goldcorp's share option program is available to its head office employees and senior management employees at their worldwide operations, with options varying with seniority).

Goldcorp's health and family benefits are rated as above-average. Goldcorp's health benefits plan is managed by Great West Life. As part of the health plan, the employer pays 100% of the premiums. Employees who work 38 hours per week receive coverage. There is no waiting period before coverage begins. The basic plan includes routine dental; restorative dental; orthodontics; eyecare ($400 every 2 years); traditional medicine coverage; alternative medicine coverage; massage therapy; medical equipment and supplies; homecare; employee assistance (EAP) plan; travel insurance; healthclub subsidy ($600 each year). Employees also receive an annual $500 health spending account (which carries over into the following year, if unused). Goldcorp's family-friendly benefits include (for some employees): maternity top-up payments (to 80% of salary for 20 weeks); parental leave top-up for new fathers (to 80% of salary for 20 weeks); parental leave top-up for adoptive parents (to 80% of salary for 20 weeks). Additional family-friendly benefits include; compassionate top-up payment (to 100% of salary for 1 week) while caring for a family member; flexible working hours; shortened work week (fewer hours with less pay).

Goldcorp's vacation and personal time-off are rated as above-average. New employees receive 3 weeks of vacation allowance after their first year. Vacation increases after 3 years on the job. Long-serving employees receive a maximum of 5 weeks of vacation each year. During the Christmas to New Year's holiday break, employees receive an additional 4 days off. Employees can also apply for an unpaid leave of absence.

As part of the review process employees can provide confidential feedback on their manager's performance. Goldcorp sponsors its own in-house employee satisfaction survey. Goldcorp hires an outside consultant to conduct confidential employee satisfaction and engagement surveys.

Goldcorp's training and skills development program is rated as very good. Employees receive tuition subsidies for courses related to their position. (The employer subsidizes up to 100% of tuition). In addition to tuition subsidies, the company also supports ongoing career development with subsidies for professional accreditations; in-house apprenticeship and skilled trades internships; in-house training programs; online training programs; formal mangement training program; an apprenticeship program specifically for First Nation employees at their Musselwhite mine in northwestern Ontario. Goldcorp established the Learning Center at their Musselwhite location, to help employees upgrade their literacy skills or learn Spanish.

Goldcorp's community involvement program is rated as average. Employees at Goldcorp are invited to make suggestions regarding what charitable organizations they would like to support. The requests are reviewed by a sponsorship committee that decides if the initiative aligns with the the company's community initiatives.
