Mars' head office features a number of unique amenities, including an onsite research and development food lab with full kitchen, wireless outdoor courtyard, employee lounge with television and foosball table, fitness facility (with free memberships, instructor-led classes, and an onsite Wellness Coordinator who provides personal fitness training), outdoor basketball court and beach volley ball pits.
Mars supports employee development, recently creating a reverse mentoring program, through which new employees mentor longstanding employees (the President is currently being mentored by a new graduate on aspects of social media). The company also hosts "Associate Development Week" twice a year, and includes a variety of courses and training activities to further employees' development, including leadership and management, sustainability, wellness, and presentation skills, to name a few.
