We’re seeking an experienced Field Health and Safety Coordinator to join our Corporate Health and Safety team. - Knowledge of all applicable Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations and the demonstrated ability to interpret and apply the legislation.
- NCSO Designation is considered and asset.
- COR Auditor certification is considered an asset.
- CRSP Designation an asset, or willing to work towards certification.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to deal with multiple and conflicting demands.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to successfully perform independent in-depth analysis.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.

Working knowledge of several software applications including Microsoft Office Suite and additional software solutions.
You will engage with the functional business leaders within the organization as their health and safety resource partner. You will be responsible for occupational health and safety, injury prevention, to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, corporate policies and procedures, to reduce related risks and achieve zero accidents/injuries.
This would include assisting in the management of WSIB Claims and Return to Work programs. Assisting with the implementation and development of Health and Safety Policies, Safe Work Procedures, Job Hazard Analysis, Safe Operating Procedures, and Site Orientation and Training Programs.
Our customers are key. You will be working at locations where Spark Power Corp employees are working, maintaining contact with customers, and meeting and exceeding their health and safety program requirements, conducting site safety audits and inspections. This is will also include project specific health and safety documentation on construction projects.
As the health and safety subject matter expert, you are someone who continually demonstrates creative sourcing strategies and ensures an outstanding employee experience.
You are able to navigate and overcome any health and safety roadblocks for our employee in the process through effective use of time and resources. Ideally, you'll gain in-depth understanding of the business functions and provide proactive solutions to ensure the health and safety goals and deadlines are met. You'll build and maintain networks both internally and externally in the organization to identify health and safety needs and improvements.
You'll be a strong partner to the employees at all levels within the organization. Maintain responsibility for entry, maintenance and integrity of data using Spark Power Corp’s internal systems. Provide analysis of health and safety stats and activities to business partners on a regular basis. Communicate tactfully, professionally, diplomatically and confidentially at all times, providing detailed updates regularly. Have a strong “can do” attitude with genuine commitment.
Post-Secondary Education preferably majoring in Occupational Health and Safety with a minimum of 4-6 years related construction and/or electrical work experience.
