Your main responsibilities are:

• Perform analyses on samples and complex samples preparation
• Breeding monitoring: algae, daphnia, ceriodaphnia, fathead, trout
• Take care of the maintenance of equipment related to breeding and analyses
• Maintain one or more systems of aquariums or pools in open systems
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure accuracy and quality of work
• Ensure that quality control criteria are met for all reported data
• Understand and troubleshoot analyses
• Provide input to corrective action procedures
• Ensure deadlines are met
• Ensure that equipment is appropriately maintained
• Use summary reports to plan and organize work
• Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations
• Keep their work area clean, neat and organized
• Contribute to daily and weekly planning
• Other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor or team leader

You are the ideal candidate if:

• Minimum of a technical diploma in bioecology / inventory and research in biology or Bachelor in biology from an approved institution or the equivalent of a combination of education and experience
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good record keeping skills and attention to detail
• Dynamic, energetic, motivated, positive outlook

Working Conditions:

• Full Time Position
• Shifts can include day, afternoons, weekends and overtime if required
• Analysts are expected to perform repetitive physical work using a variety of machines and equipment as required and according to deadlines established by their supervisor.
