Your main responsibilities are:
- Perform analyses on samples and complex samples preparation
- Breeding monitoring: algae, daphnia, ceriodaphnia, fathead, trout
- Take care of the maintenance of equipment related to breeding and analyses
- Maintain one or more systems of aquariums or pools in open systems
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure accuracy and quality of work
- Ensure that quality control criteria are met for all reported data
- Understand and troubleshoot analyses
- Provide input to corrective action procedures
- Ensure deadlines are met
- Ensure that equipment is appropriately maintained
- Use summary reports to plan and organize work
- Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations
- Keep their work area clean, neat and organized
- Contribute to daily and weekly planning
- Other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor or team leader
You are the ideal candidate if:
- Minimum of a technical diploma in bioecology / inventory and research in biology or Bachelor in biology from an approved institution or the equivalent of a combination of education and experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good record keeping skills and attention to detail
- Dynamic, energetic, motivated, positive outlook
Working Conditions:
- Full Time Position
- Shifts can include day, afternoons, weekends and overtime if required
- Analysts are expected to perform repetitive physical work using a variety of machines and equipment as required and according to deadlines established by their supervisor.
