We have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Electrician at our Tavistock location. This position will be scheduled to work Friday - Sunday 6am - 6pm Overview of the Role Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the routine/preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing and packaging equipment. How you will make contributions that matter: Carries out preventative maintenance on assigned equipment Trouble shoots and repairs equipment in breakdown situations Carries out equipment installations and modifications as required Makes PLC & HMI programming changes as required Repair parts in shop Work effectively in a processing environment without jeopardising food safety Follow company policies and safety standards Works with other trades groups to complete project assignments. Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance supervisor. You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications: Electrician license Proven 6 years experience with process and high speed packaging equipment in a manufacturing setting. Food industry or high speed packaging experience Good PLC & HMI troubleshooting PLC & HMI programming skills is an asset Experience in instrumentation such as flow meters, RTD and pressure/level measurement is an asset Good understanding of electronics and ability to perform simple repairs on electronic equipment Pneumatics and hydraulics knowledge Blueprint reading plus understanding of PID drawings Excellent trouble shooting and analytical skills. Lead hand or supervisory experience is an asset Boiler, refrigeration and air handling systems experience is an asset Millwright license is an asset Ability to work independently with minimum supervision but be a good team player High level of self-motivation and initiative, willing to learn and good self-starter Excellent written and oral communication skills Dependable with a good attendance and safety record in current position.
